Foundations: Building a Solid Base
To lay a strong foundation, Z K Plumbing & Building opted for the durable and reliable Dense Blocks from Rose Building Supplies. These blocks provide exceptional strength and stability, ensuring a solid base for the entire structure. Additionally, they used Jumbo Bag Ballast for a stable and secure footing, along with the Master Grade Cement for reliable bonding and construction.
Wall Construction:
For the internal walls, Z K Plumbing & Building chose the Ultralyte Blocks (Internal) from Rose Building Supplies. These blocks are known for their excellent thermal and sound insulation properties, creating a comfortable living environment. On the external walls, the LBC Antique Rustics Bricks were used, these are still manufactured locally and used across all the cambridgeshire area. Roof:
The roof of this renovated house features the stunning Mannok Western Slate Premium Graphite roof tiles, adding a sophisticated and sleek appearance to the overall design. The Treated Roof Blue Batten provided reliable support and stability for the roofing tiles. To ensure proper ventilation and moisture control, Breather Felt was installed.
Insulation: Efficiency and Comfort Combined
Efficient insulation is crucial for maintaining a comfortable and energy-efficient home. Z K Plumbing & Building utilized Knauf 200mm Earthwool Loft Roll for loft insulation, providing excellent thermal performance. In addition, the Ecotherm PIR Eco-Versal Board enhanced the insulation properties in this space, ensuring better energy efficiency throughout the house. Internal Materials: Elevating the Interior
For the flooring, Z K Plumbing & Building selected chipboard Egger flooring, known for its durability, provides a solid base for internal floors. The walls were finished with GTEC Standard Plasterboard, and using GTEC Bonding Compound as a reliable plasterboard adhesive, ensuring a strong and durable bond. The walls were then plastered using Multi Finish Plaster to create a smooth desirable appearance.
